An Open Letter to Senator Brent Howard and Senator Todd Gollihare Concerning the Establishment of Justice for the Fatherless Preborn Through the Passage of SB456

Dear Senator Brent Howard,

We are calling on you to hear and help pass SB 456 (The Abolition of Abortion Act) through the judiciary committee. As a magistrate, you are charged by God to protect your constituents, and your constituents include the preborn. Thus, you are charged by God to support the abolition of abortion, which is the criminalization of the act itself. You might think that abortion has been dealt with in Oklahoma, but the fact is there are still thousands of babies being aborted in our state each year. Self-managed abortion pills alone account for more than 3,200 deaths in the state of Oklahoma. This figure does not include those who die through telehealth abortion, out-of-state abortions, selective reduction abortions in IVF, and the use of other abortifacients. These are thousands of people who would have become active participants in our great state whose lives were cut short because lawmakers such as you refuse to protect them and pass laws that would establish equal justice for them. The only way to do this is to make their murder criminal in the state of Oklahoma.

In short, we want to tell you that God commands you to do two things:

• Protect the natural rights of the preborn (which are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness).
• Write laws that will punish the act of murdering these pre-born children as homicide.

You cannot obey the first command without obeying the second command, for these two commands are not two, but one and the same command. That is, a magistrate protects the natural rights of his constituents by punishing those who would violently transgress those rights. For example, how can you protect the right to property of those whom you represent, is it not by writing bills that would criminalize the act of theft? In the same way, you cannot rightfully claim that you have worked to protect the right to life of our preborn neighbor if you would not criminalize the act of their murder.

Because of your duty before God, we demand and implore you to establish justice for the fatherless preborn by supporting SB 456 all to the glory of God.
