Abortion is legal up until birth in Colorado. In 2022, Governor Jared Polis signed an executive order preventing state agencies from cooperating with out-of-state investigations regarding murders by abortion committed in Colorado. He also signed a bill providing statutory protections for abortion up until birth.
In 2022, Rep. Dave Williams filed HB22-1079, the first abolition bill in Colorado. It was voted down 7-4 in the Colorado House Health & Insurance Committee on a party-line vote. Williams ran unsuccessfully for Congress later in 2022.
