In 2019, Georgia passed a heartbeat bill (HB 481) into law, which is now in effect after being upheld by the State Supreme Court. Abortion is legal up to six weeks in Georgia with exceptions that allow children conceived in rape and incest to murdered up to 20 weeks. The law also allows the murder of children deemed “medically futile.
