In 2019, Illinois passed the Reproductive Health Act which codifies into State law that “A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent rights under the laws of this State,” and “Every individual who becomes pregnant has a fundamental right to…abortion.”
No abolition bill has been filed in Illinois.
