Missouri law makes the performance of an abortion by an abortionist a class B felony. The law clarifies that “A woman upon whom an abortion is performed or induced in violation of this subsection shall not be prosecuted,” effectively legalizing self-managed abortion in Missouri.
Abolition History:
State Senator Mike Moon has introduced bills to abolish abortion in Missouri each year since 2020. Most recently in 2023, Moon and State Rep. Bob Titus filed the Abolition of Abortion in Missouri Act in both respective chambers.
