Will the Sixth Annual Abolition Day Be the Last?

On Tuesday, hundreds of abolitionists from across Oklahoma met at the State Capitol for the sixth annual Abolition Day Rally to demand justice for our preborn neighbors. Abolitionist leaders and Senators charged the crowd to renew their enthusiasm for the abolitionist cause and to call our state government to repentance, before we all went into the capitol to speak with our legislators.

Numerous news stations covered the rally, including KOCO.

The rally speeches from Russell Hunter, Bill Ascol, Brett Baggett, Blake Gideon, Senator Warren Hamilton, and Senator Dusty Deevers will be edited and online at our YouTube channel soon, so make sure you're subscribed there. But there is work to do in the meantime.

The Abolition of Abortion Act has been assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee chaired by Senator Brent Howard. This is the first time the bill has not been assigned to the Health and Human Services Committee, which gives us the opportunity to interact with new Senators, starting with Howard.

As chair of the committee, Howard has sole discretion over whether the bill gets a hearing and a vote. Passing in committee is the first step to the bill becoming law.

Please call and email Senator Howard today asking him to give SB1729 a hearing!

We will continue showing up for as many Abolition Days as we have to until abortion is abolished, but pray that it happens this year. Pray for Senators Warren Hamilton and Dusty Deevers and support their efforts by reaching out to Brent Howard.
